The hotel was in a perfect and top position short walk to major museums and sights, the famous Telefónica Building, and the metro stop "Gran Via ", the most vibrant area for shopping and enjoying night life.

Located in the very heart of the city.Easy access by foot. Parking is 70 meters away. Extremely good for city tours.
Difficulties in communicating with the staff (they only speak Spanish).

The rooms are spacious and clean. The chamber maid did an excellent job everyday! The metro station ( Gran Via) is just at your doorstep and the hostal is on the main shopping area. You can walk all the way from Gran Via to Sol and onto the activity filled Plaza Mayor within 15 minutes.Security to the rooms is tight and that is good. Even though the ladies at the counter spoke no English, they were very helpful. They got us a taxi to bring us to the airport at 5.30am.
No lift up the hostal and the rooms. If you are travelling with older folks or young children, you will need to take more time to get to tyour rooms.

The hotel was really close to all touristic points of interest in the city! Its true that there are some stairs to get to the hotel but it is the most comfortable stairs i have seen all along europe! they are really easy to climb. At night its true that there is some noise but it is because the hotel is in the heart of the city! The rooms, they are very clean. The staff, they are all excellent people, helped me with everything I needed. When I come back to Madrid I will definitely stay at this hotel!

Great location in the heart of a lively neighborhood with easy access to attractions and public transportation. Comfortable and clean rooms with recently renovated bathrooms. Friendly and helpful staff, especially the Filipino gentleman and the younger Spanish lady at the front desk. The hotel offers 24-hour reception, allowing for flexibility in coming and going.
Some noise issues, particularly from the doorbell and street noise for rooms facing a popular pedestrian street. Lack of English language proficiency among some staff members, which may make communication difficult for non-Spanish or non-Italian speakers.

It was like staying at home.Absolutely no complications. Exactly what I was expecting for. I don´t want to pay huge amounts of money for a lobby.I want to pay services , so I´m glad of staying at this hostal, and the next .time I come to Madrid surely I´ll return to Maria Cristina

Fuencarral is a busy shopping street, with many pubs in the surroundig (this is good!!!) but it is a bit noisy - but who wants to sleep when life goes on till mornings...
